A monument purposefully designed to raise awareness and funds concerning the issue of hunger in the greater Hartford area. ." Images of corn and wheat over the gateway are symbols of bounty and a bird with olive branch encircled sends a message of peace and forgiveness. Harvest Gate's narrative reads; after preparing the ground, planting the seed and cultivating with care, a long coming to term offers encouragement of success. It's inscription  reads "As You Sow, So Shall You Reap. The gateway construction stands for transformation - as you pass through the gateway a donation can be made to Hartford Food Systems by "feeding the bird" donation box built into the column. These monies generated are redistributed in the form of food coupons redeemable for fresh produce at the adjacent farmers market.
