Hero is unique: a hydrant with an attitude, a persona brimming with confidence born of preparedness and experience.

"Hello, my name is HERO. I represent the spirit of Engine Company #16 at Morris Cove. It's not for me to call myself HERO - others do. It's an honor I accept on behalf of all firefighters from those who rescue pets in trouble to the 343 truly heroic firefighters who lost their lives on September 11. I salute and celebrate the Heroes - the rookies, the crews' cooks, the veteran ladder jockeys, the chief - who throughout the East Shore's history have helped preserve the stability of Morris Cove.
