"Often I create sculptures in a group or series based on a poetic narrative. The pieces suggest a mood or tone rather than tell a story.

The organic factor remains important.
I look for volumes, edges, transitional points, movements from one shape into another. Nature lays all that out and directs me."

"When working on
commissioned projects,
I create maquettes that I
can scale up. This allows for
a precise dialogue between
the client and myself. I keep
 the models from the projects
that go forward as a visual
 record and exhibit
the others."
